Coconut water is a refreshing beverage that is consumed worldwide as it is nutritious and beneficial for health. Indeed coconut water is said to be an isotonic liquid close to the human blood in term of ratio of micronutrients. It has been the favorite beverage of Asian and Pacific cultures for thousands of years. The Hawaiians called it “noelani” meaning “dew from heavens”. Coconut is a symbol of purity in India due to the pure water it contains, and a symbol of health and wealth in Hindu religion. In African folk medicine, the coconut was used to treat skin infections. Indian people used it to stop hair turning grey. At first, the coconut was used in cosmetics for its content in fatty acids to make soaps.
