Since the Middle Ages, Arnica has been qualified as an exceptional natural remedy against external
wounds. In the 18th century, it was the subject of a great number of medical theses which specified then that Arnica was a remedy acting rapidly and in small doses.
Present in the French and European Pharmacopoeia, Arnica preparations are used in phytotherapy against inflammations of the skin, the mouth and connective tissue diseases. Arnica is also proven to have antimicrobial, anti-irritant and antirheumatic effect. Arnica preparations increase as well the capillary blood supply and are used in compresses, massage preparations and hair care products.
